Singer Tiffany landed a record deal when she was just 14, and by 16, she already had two U.S. number-one hit singles with "I Think We're Alone Now" and the tender ballad "Could've Been." On Oct. 25, Tiffany delivered those tunes and much more at The Studio At Mizner Park. The intimate concert experience really allowed the audience to go on a musical journey with the artist who set a record as the youngest female artist to top the Billboard charts with her debut album.
Tiffany, a.k.a. Tiffany Darwish, performed this show with talented guitarist Mark Alberici, who described as "My producer, my everything, fiancé." The duo exudes an irresistible chemistry on stage, and she said they often make music together at their home studio in Nashville.
"We have a greatest hits album coming up next year," Tiffany shares. "It's time. We're going to go into the studio and rework some of your favorites. "We are going to do 'Danny, Nobody Wins,' 'Radio Romance,' and more. We've also been doing some rock stuff. It's always been my dream to stuff that I was dreaming of doing when I was in bedroom as a young girl and 9 and 10 saying, 'I want to front a band and be Stevie Nicks!'"
While Tiffany acknowledges and appreciates how 'I Think We're Alone Now" and "Could've Been" catapulted her to fame, she admits, "It's always been my dream to show another extension of myself."
While she's Nashville-based now, she adds that she spent time in Nashville since she was 10 and that country music played a surprising role in shaping her as an artist.
"From fan engagement to writing songs to being a live entertainer," she adds. "That's where I come from even before I had the record deal."
Now, she says she still spends a good amount of time touring on the road. At The Studio at Mizner Tiffany and Alberici delivered their Retrotonic show with Tiffany on vocals and Alberici on lead guitar with a moving rendition of "All This Time" originally released on Oct. 24, 1988. It was quite special to see Tiffany still belting out this ballad essentially 36 years after the day she had debuted it.
In between songs, Tiffany shared personal stories from different moments in her career, and she reminisced about how her iconic denim jacket emerged from car trunk during a last-minute wardrobe decision that led to a kismet photo shoot moment. She even donned a rad leather jacket she hand-painted with her sister while she was touring the New Kids On The Block. "We actually write my name on the back," she shared while donning the jacket at the Boca Raton show. "I wanted to wear my original jacket and go as me tonight!"
Tiffany and Alberici wowed the crowd with some punky pop bangers such as "Beautiful" and "Hey Baby" and a moving cover of "Angels" by Robbie Williams.
She closed with a super fun and unexpected moment when she invited fans dressed in Halloween costumes to join her on stage for "I Think We're Alone Now." It's not every time you get to hop on stage with your favorite '80s popstar and rock out as dressed a Robert Palmer girl, but it's a moment I will forever hold in my '80s pop culture-craving heart.
Tiffany's warm rapport with her fans reminds us that even after "All This Time," we're never really alone now, and our greatest friends and moments of joy are only always just a mixtape away.
Tiffany has a cookbook in the works, more music coming, and other cool things on the way. For the latest on this sweet star, check out https://tiffanytunes.com/ and https://www.instagram.com/tiffany_tunes/.
