P!nk Gets The Party Started in South Florida

P!nk is in her healing era and I am here for it. She opened last night's set at Amerant Bank Arena asking us if we were ready to forget everything for the next two hours and just have a good time with her. Throughout the duration of the night, she implored us to let it all go: sing, dance, laugh, and cry. And we did exactly that.

During a set change, a pre-recorded version of P!nk even walked us through a grounding exercise that's used to calm an anxious mind.

She kicked off the night hard and fast with hit after hit: "Get This Party Started," "Raise Your Glass," "Just Like a Pill," and "Try."

The crowd was treated to aerial stunts, colorfully costumed dancers, and a set design that can only be described as eye candy! When you attend a P!nk show, you're invited into her world like an old friend. Late in the show she addressed the crowd with a heartfelt statement about us growing up together. The first time I saw

P!nk perform live in concert was over 20 years ago in 2002. She is two years older than me. My son went from toddler to teenager in the years he's been a fan.

We really have grown up together.

Can we talk for a minute about the covers? Her own songs are dynamic, impactful, and far-reaching. Then she weaves a beautiful piano version of Bob Dylan's oft-covered classic "Make You Feel My Love" into the set and blows us all away.

Further into the show we're treated to

P!nk's own driving force of a song, "Just Like Fire," but with an added bonus of Pat Benetar's "Heartbreaker" outro.

I quickly noticed people singing along and gathered who was my age and who was not.

Act III of the performance brought P!nk's daughter Willow to the stage for a beautiful duet of "Cover Me In Sunshine," followed by a walk with longtime guitarist Justin Derrico to the end of the runway for an acoustic set that featured "Don't Let Me Get Me." A change to the famous lyric now finds us singing "Tired of being compared/to sweet Britney Spears."

We love women supporting women through difficult times.

P!nk finished the show as strongly as she began: dedicating two songs ("Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" and "Never Gonna Not Dance Again") to introducing her entire backing band and every dancer and stunt performer.

It is evident she truly appreciates her touring family and all of us. She began the introductions by informing the crowd "I want to introduce all you people I love, to all these people I love."

As the band launched into "So What," P!nk buckled into her harnesses one more time while pointing to the back of the arena and declaring: "I'm gonna come see you guys up there!" She then proceeded to literally fly and flip several circles around the entire venue, all while singing.

If you haven't been to a P!nk show, saying you're missing out is an understatement!

This woman performs at a caliber most can't touch. It's a spectacular time for all!

P!ink will wrap up the U.S. portion of her tour this month before she heads to Australia in early 2024.
