The newly renovated War Memorial Auditorium erupted with raw energy on Jan. 21, 2025, as three generations of fierce female musicians—Melissa Etheridge, Lisa Loeb, and Maggie Rose—transformed the historic venue into a cathedral of raw rock and introspective songcraft.
Melissa Etheridge, the evening's thunderbolt, unleashed her signature raspy vocals and sharp electric guitar skills, turning the auditorium into a time machine that transported fans back to the alt-rock zenith of the '90s. She rolled out all her hits including "Come To My Window," "I'm The Only One," "Bring Me Some Water," and "I Want To Come Over."
Lisa Loeb, trademark glasses firmly in place, brought her delicate yet sharp-edged storytelling, proving that her songwriting remains as incisive as her 1994 hit "Stay." Her indie-folk vulnerability cut through the venue's newly upgraded acoustics and showed she really does have staying power.
Maggie Rose, representing the contemporary wave of genre-defying artists, bridged generations with her soulful rock and country influences. Her performance suggested she's not just carrying the torch—she's reimagining it entirely.
The first concert in the renovated War Memorial wasn't just a show. It was a statement: female musicians continue to reshape musical landscapes, one electrifying performance at a time.
