The lights dimmed at The Parker last Tuesday night, and what unfolded wasn't your typical evening with the GRAMMY-winning guitarist of Alter Bridge and Creed. Instead, Mark Tremonti stepped into some considerably different shoes – those of Ol' Blue Eyes himself.
Trading his signature PRS guitar for a classic handheld mic and donning a tux, Tremonti demonstrated that his musical journey has taken an unexpected yet deeply personal turn. His tribute to Frank Sinatra's catalog isn't just another rock star's vanity project— it's a father's love letter to his daughter Stella, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome, and a commitment to raising funds for the National Down Syndrome Society through his Take A Chance For Charity initiative.
Backed by an ensemble that included surviving members of Sinatra's own band, Tremonti's rich baritone filled the venue with faithful renditions of classics like "I've Got You Under My Skin" and "Luck Be A Lady." What's remarkable isn't just the unexpected versatility of the metal guitarist's voice but the evident care and respect he approaches this material. This isn't karaoke-night Sinatra – it's a studied, heartfelt homage that would have made the Chairman proud.
