When I was growing up, my cousin Vanessa Giambalvo would come over to my house on the weekends and we watched Dirty Dancing until the VHS tape wore out. Johnny Castle was my first crush when I was a kid. Like many other young girls in the eighties, the film mesmerized me and its soundtracks were on constant rotation in my purple Sharp boombox. God, I miss that little cassette player with the rainbow shoulder strap! I often wondered what it would be like to step inside the film and now fellow diehard Dirty Dancing fans will get the chance!
Dirty Dancing LIVE in Concert is coming to the Delray Beach Amphitheatre at Old School Square Friday, Dec. 15, 2023. Gates open at 6 p.m. Performance starts at 7:30 p.m. and runs through 10 p.m.
At 8:30 p.m., there will be a 20-minute Intermission, and at 9:30 p.m. is a dance party with guests.
