A sea of women showed up at ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, 3355 N Federal Highway, Oakland Park, this afternoon to grab a selfie with Jason Momoa and an autographed bottle of Meili Vodka. One was even toting a lifesize cutout of the "Game of Thrones" star. The Hawaiian actor was literally in great spirits today with Meili Vodka Co-founder Blaine Halvorson.
Meili (pronounced MAY-le), means “the lovely one” in Hawaiian. The duo, who are longtime friends, have been meeting with fans around the country during the “Meili Vodka Revolution Tour."
"Jason walked in with a little boombox, blasting the Metallica song 'Fight Fire With Fire," said Larry Marano, who photographed the event. "He was posing for selfies with everyone and signing the bottles of liquor from his brand. He was cool."
Momoa has a new series, "On the Roam," which chronicles his travels touring the country, meeting his creative heroes, from a vintage motorbike builder to movie prop makers to chatting with his hero Slash. The MAX series premieres today Jan. 18.
In the meantime, Momoa is having a blast connecting with his fans and giving them a taste of his gluten-free vodka.
“Everyone we talk to is so pumped — and it’s so exciting to see it finally out there. I mean, I can’t keep my mouth shut. I’m horrible at surprises,” Momoa told Spirits Business. “It’s pretty amazing to go, ‘Wow, all this hard work and what we did and what we believed in is finally paying off.’ It’s probably one of the biggest honors of my life.”
If you want another chance to meet Momoa, he heads to the 305 tomorrow, Friday Jan. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Total Wine & More, 2750 SW 27th Ter., Suite 201, Miami.
